Speaker

Author Lee Basnar is available to groups and organizations that seek an experienced speaker. A former member of Toastmasters International, he speaks on various subjects, including a different perspective about Vietnam as he reflects on his experiences during his tours as an infantry advisor and as a commander.

Basnar, who is also a columnist, photographer, pilot, and poet, lived with his wife for sixteen years in a cabin in the remote Alaska bush. He presents fascinating tales of encounters with and personal observations of grizzly and black bears, wolves, moose and other Alaskan animals. He describes the challenges of living without electricity and running water, and coping with snow depths in excess of six feet for months at a time.

He speaks to aviation groups about flying in the Alaska bush, and has presented his poem, “The Trapper,” along with background and commentary, to members of a church congregation.

Contact Lee Basnar a minimum of thirty days prior to the day you would like him to speak to your group or organization. Fees may apply, depending on the topic and on the distance from Sierra Vista, Arizona.
